Description

The original Marlin Hepburn sight was designed by Lewis Hepburn (1832 - 1914) and featured a very unique elevation system that hinged in the front and locked into "notches" at the rear for quick elevation changes.

Hepburn worked for Marlin for many years and is credited with the design of many successful Marlin Rifles and Shotguns.  Many early Marlin Rifle receivers were drilled and tapped (8-40 screw size, .900" center to center) on top for this "winged" peep sight.

The Skinner Hepburn is not of the original design.  Our sight uses our modern elevation stem which allows for about 12 MOA of adjustment (on a 20" barrel) and unlike the orig. Hepburn, the Skinner version has Windage Adjustment via slotted mounting screw holes.

This sight is more rugged than the original and once locked in place will withstand about any use.

Comes with a .096" aperture installed.  Accepts all 5 Skinner Aperture sizes.

The Skinner "MONTANA" sight
8-40 Screw Size @ .900" C-C

Many of these older Marlins (1893/1894/1895) are factory drilled and tapped for 8-40 Screws on .900" centers, just BEGGING for one of these sleek/Slick sights

SHOWN HERE IN ALL BRASS.  ALSO AVAILABLE IN BLUE STEEL

For a traditional yet CLEAN look, our "MONTANA" series sight looks like it grew on the rifle, is low and simple, yet as rugged as it is good looking. "This is my personal preference" Andy
