Description
These are the ORIGINAL Belt Mountain Base Pins revolver shooters and custom pistol smiths have been using for over 30 years. Made to the highest quality and tight tolerances, a Belt Mountain pin will tighten up the cylinder and hold better under recoil than the factory base pin.
The famous “Keith #5” design allows for secure gripping when removing the pin.
Features a locking set screw to provide a more secure hold when shooting the heavier recoiling cartridges. Allen wrench and instructions included.
Precision machined from 4140 (Blued) and 416 (Stainless), hardened at 38-40 RC, then centerless ground to .2495” diameter.
Easily installed, most often a “drop in” process, minimal fitting if any at all. We selected a variety of Ruger New Models for testing, all were easily installed with no fitting necessary.
Due to the tight tolerances of these pins and variations in factory machining over the years on the revolvers they fit, our lifetime warranty and money back guarantee will apply if there are defects in materials or workmanship. We will always work with you to achieve success in installing your pin.
These fit the RUGER NEW MODEL Super Blackhawks / Blackhawks / Large Frame Vaqueros
More models to come. Each model will be added to this page as they are available.
A note from Andy:
Belt Mountain products were developed by Kelye Schlepp, right here in Montana. Kelye addressed the sometimes-loose fitting, difficult to grasp, non-recoil resistant, factory base pins found on many revolvers by machining precision parts as direct replacements. Over time, he offered variations for Ruger and Colt single-action revolvers, including the popular Keith-style as featured on Elmer Keith's famous #5 revolver.
In early 2025, Kelye Schlepp retired, and Skinner Sights acquired Belt Mountain Enterprises. Skinner Sights is continuing the legacy of producing these high-quality, well-known parts for the shooting community.
I am committed to maintaining Kelye’s attention to detail, precision engineering, and customer service that earned him a legendary reputation among custom gunsmiths and enthusiasts.
Skinner Sights and Belt Mountain Enterprises are two companies that go together perfectly. We look forward to joining Kelye’s legacy with our own reputation of building great products, for you, our customers!
STILL MADE IN MONTANA BY SHOOTERS, FOR SHOOTERS.
