"The model 70 rifle has long been known as "The Rifleman's Rifle".  The early professionals knew an aperture sighted bolt gun was rugged, effective, and accurate.  Many of the Pre-64 Model 70's I use have never worn a scope.  Those "Old Timers" used the peep very effectively to a few hundred yards.  I like to choose a flat shooting cartridge, sight in so my point-blank range is good to 300 yards, and hunt...  Practice is always paramount."  Andy
