Description

These sights are machined from solid steel or brass barstock.  They have  Sloped/Ramped faces, square flat tops, and are the perfect hunting Blade type sight.  The sloped face resists snagging, is serrated for light deflection, and gives a great crisp sight picture.

Since you are always shooting to the "tip" or "top" of the sight, the bullet point of impact is not covered up by a bead or fiber optic.  This gives you more consistency in aiming.

Blades are .065" wide, dovetails are nominal 3/8"

Guide Series blade sights can be trimmed to height as needed.

We make this sight in 3 base widths and several heights.

Width is measured right to left as viewed looking down the barrel.

Generally, 1/4" and 3/8" are used in conjunction with ramps and are sized to match the top of the ramp width.  1/2" wide bases are used in "direct to barrel dovetail" mounting without a ramp.

A 3/8" wide base sight can look good in a slim octagon barrel or thinner round barrel.  (often encountered in rimfire rifles)

"According to Townsend Whelen, a blade is inherently more accurate than beads.  Think about it...  Competition shooters, Olympic and NRA competitors use posts (and globes) for the reasons mentioned.  If you put all your focus on the tip of the blade, it will center in the aperture (like magic) same as a bead.  All major battle rifles used blades for a reason.  Not only for the accuracy but also for durability."  ANDY
